Whoever invented Spring Break, you rock!
Well boys and girls, it’s that wonderful time of year that we all know and love: Spring Break. I personally have so far just been chillin in the Bham, but I’m gunna head out of town tomorrow and have a little fun. I do apologize for the lack of updates, but I was taking a BREAK, you know? I’ll use this post to do a few updates about some of the goings on of the last few days.
First off, we have the Will Dunbar fiasco. I thought about writing about, and commenting on, this whole situation but then I thought better. If you want informationon it, you can read more via the Birmingham News at Al.com, and at Off the Vine, the official UAB sports blog of AL.com. I don’t know enough about the situation (and I don’t want to investigate enough), to make a comment.
Next up. I have started some work on the Student Organization tab that you see up at the top. Eventually every single UAB student organization will have their own page on iloveuab.com. I don’t know if you have noticed or not, but uab.edu has little to no relevent information about student organizations. They need to fire somebody. However, this little slip up of theirs leaves me with a great oportunity to fill in the gap. I’m cool with that. BTW, I have only started to really work on the “UAB Greek Life” section of the directory. I know the most about that section of student organizations, and it seemed like a good starting point. There isn’t much information there yet because I want to let each organization have a chance to create their own pages, if they don’t want to I will just fill it in with the most relevant information I can come up with. More to come.
InsideUAB.com Uh ohhh! What is this here? It looks like the guys from the Kscope got together and made a Wordpress Blog aimed at the current student body of UAB which is also written by UAB students. Where could they have gotten such a great idea?! I suppose imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Regardless, props to them, they are displaying my news feed, I’m cool with that. Well done.
Anyway, back to spring break. I want to feature some awesome spring break trips that UAB students have had. If you had an awesome spring break, then leave a comment on this post, or use the Contact Form to shoot me and email. I always reply. I’ll do a big post next week about some cool trips that people went on. Take some pictures!
I’ll post some more stuff later in the week, be looking for the Music wrap up today and my internet wrap up on Thursday.

The Will Dunbar situation is very similar to situations which the national media has investigated with other people in the state of Georgia. In short, there appears to be a flaw in the statutory rape laws which Georgia (and likely other states) don’t want to fix because they don’t want to appear soft on sex crimes.
