Things are starting to pick back up this Summer as the semester moves along. Finally, for the first time in weeks my email was filled with all kinds of UAB activities and opportunities. Now it’s time for me to relay the message to you.

First up we have some info that may peak your interest if you are the type that likes to volunteer and give back to the community. There are two opportunities to participate in the UAB Summer Service Weekends in the upcoming months. The first service weekend will be June 12-14 and the next will be July 17-19. Applications for the trips can be, as always, picked up in HUC room 440 and they must be completed and turned in by the deadline which is May 30th. As the flier suggests, past trips have visited Pensacola, Chattanooga, and New Orleans. Sounds to me like a great way to get involved and also a great free way to see a new place.

Oh yeah, and as always, this event is “Paid for by your Student Service Fees!”
