UAB Suffers Road Woes yet again; Lose 27-14
The UAB football team struggled Saturday in what can be described as a mismatched game on both sides of the ball. Offensively the Blazers were held to a season low of 285 total yards. Defensively the Blazers gave up huge numbers as the Trojans put a staggering 551 yards of total offense on the Green and Gold (413 of those yards came through the air).
Although at the end of the game the score was heavily in Troy’s favor the game started out slowly. The Blazers and Trojans went toe-to-toe with each other defensively in the 1st and 2nd quarter as the Trojans were held to 10 points at the half by the Blazers.
In the 2nd half the Blazers went 58 yards down the field until the march was stopped on the Troy 2 yard line and the Green and Gold had to settle for 3. After the Blazers and Trojans traded possessions during the greater part of the 3rd quarter the Trojans started to pull away after Trojan 63 yard touchdown pass. From there out the Blazers would watch as the Trojans put the game farther and farther out of reach.
Once again the Blazers must display a short memory as they travel to their farthest game yet; Texas A&M. Despite a discouraging day on both sides of the ball the Blazers still have the talent to get it done on the field. Hopefully they can get a huge confidence boost with a win over the Aggies. Until then however, Go Blazers!
