UAB is Lovin’ the Princeton Review

It’s that time of the year again! Princeton Review Time! UAB has yet again gotten great reviews in this year’s Princeton Review College Rankings. For the second year in a row (correct me if I am wrong) UAB has ranked third in the “Lots of Race/Class Interaction” category. This is obviously something that we are very proud of. I feel truly lucky to be on a campus with a wide range of different kinds of people with many backgrounds, cultures, and ideas. It definitely makes UAB a very interesting place to go to school. UAB also did very well in two other positive categories: Number 11 in: Happiest students and Number 14 in: Best recreational athletic facilities. Nice. I love it.
The Birmingham news had a great article today talking about the rankings. They were kind enough to list the rankings of the other schools in the state which, in my opinion, make our rankings look EVEN better. Here they are:

HIGHEST RANKINGS FOR ALABAMA SCHOOLS:
Area schools’ top rankings among 371 schools nationally by The Princeton Review.

Auburn University
No. 8: Students dissatisfied with financial aid
No. 9: Least accessible professors
No. 19: Not gay friendly
No. 19: Most religious students

University of Alabama
No. 7: Best recreational athletic facilities
No. 13: Popularity of intercollegiate sports
No. 15: Most conservative students
No. 16: Major Greek scene
No. 16: Students study the least

Samford University
No. 10: Good relations with the community
No. 10: Most religious students
No. 10: Future Rotarians and Daughters of the Revolution (indicates a very politically and socially conservative student body)
No. 12: Not gay friendly
No. 13: Most conservative students
No. 17: Little use of marijuana

Birmingham-Southern College
No. 5: Major Greek scene
No. 15: Students not politically active

Again UAB is at the top of the list for being an awesome college while the rest of the state schools lack in many areas. Now if we can only bring our Greek system and commuter involvement up we will be a top 10 college across the board. Go Blazers!
