The Leadership and Service Council here at UAB promotes leadership and service to the community by hosting interactive forums and leadership retreats. They also provide community service opportunities as well as other service-related activities to UAB students interested in developing their leadership potential or exploring the value of service.

The Retreats Committee is one of many committees on LSC that puts on two events, Fall Leadership Conference in the fall semester and the Winter Leadership Retreat in the spring semester. This year, the Fall Leadership Conference will be held on September 26 at the Business and Engineering Complex from 8 AM until 3 PM. The Fall Leadership Conference is a great way to learn more about leadership and develop your skills as an emerging leader on campus and in the community. The sessions will be led by UAB faculty and community leaders that have volunteered their time and expertise to share with the students. There will be 11 facilitators speaking about topics ranging from Stress Management and Emotional Intelligence to Global Leadership and Understanding Personality and Leadership. There will be free breakfast and lunch, as well as a free T-shirt. Please come take advantage of this great opportunity and pick up an application from HUC 440 and make sure to turn it in by 5:00 PM on September 10.
