UAB Dollars for Scholars 5k/10k Run
In my 22, almost 23, years of life I have never once felt compelled to run for any extended period of time. In other words, I’m no Forest Gump. However, there are a number of people (as seen in the picture below) who love to run. I’m just assuming here, but it seems like runners find it especially fun to run for a good cause. If you’re a runner and you feel like breaking a sweat and you want me to hand you a cup of water some where along the way, you’re in luck! The UAB National Alumni Society is yet again hosting their annual fundraising event “Dollars For Scholars 5k/10k Run”. The race will be held on Friday April 30th in the Pepper Place district in downtown Bham. Race day regestration will start at 4pm and the race will then start at 6pm. Registration cost is $25 before March 31st, but if you’re a slacker, it’ll cost you $35 the day of the race.
Last year the race raised $40,00 bucks which went to help support UAB student scholarships – now there’s something we can all get behind.
You can register for the race via Active.com. It seems to be the thing to do if you’re a runner: Active.com UAB Dollars for Scholars
