UAB Defeats ETSU; Improve to 8-1
Well, well, well. What do we have here? Our UAB Blazers are quietly making some noise and are sitting at a solid 8-1 right now. Now if there’s anything I love more than an oxymoron in the beginning sentence of a iloveuab post it’s our Blazers being at the top of their game right now. The Blazers defeated Murry Bartow’s ETSU Bucs in the 1st Annual UAB Health System Bartow Classic.
It was a great night for UAB as we as Blazers honored the Founding Father of UAB athletics Gene Bartow. Bartow (who’s name is on our basketball stadium if you didn’t notice or are blind) built UAB literally from the ground up. His vision and commitment to UAB put UAB where it is today. And the Blazers sent their thanks last night in the form of a 74-52 victory.
The Blazers have started strong out of the gate this year but where is this team headed? Who really knows but one things for sure 8-1 is a great way to start out on the right foot.
The Blazers have one more home game in their 6 game home series against hated rival Cincinnati on December 16th @ 6pm. The game will be a televised one so paint up and come out and support your Blazers! A big win over cinci would be huge for our team and get us some national attention so get you ass out to Bartow the Wednesday after Finals and cheer your Blazers on to victory!
Until next time GB!
