UAB Canned Food Drive
This is a guest post by Jaya Madhav. She is a member of the Leadership and Service Council.
The Student Alumni Society and Leadership and Service Council are facilitating a campus wide canned food drive starting September 4th. This canned food drive is part of a new UAB annual event, University Day. UAB is hosting University Day to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The food drive ends on the day of the event, September 24th. Our goal is to raise 4,000 cans by then.
In order to achieve this goal, we need your help. There are drop off locations at the HUC, Commons, Campus Recreation Center, Alumni Affairs Office, Sterne Library, Lister Hill Library, and residence halls. You can drop off your cans at any time. If you are part of an organization, we would like each organization to bring in at least 25 can. The organizations must drop off their cans on Friday from 10am-12pm in HUC 440. We will tally the amount of cans that each organization brought, and the top three contributing organizations will be recognized and given an award.
We would greatly appreciate your participation! This is a great way for you to help the Birmingham community!
