The Onion Comes To UAB! TheOnion.com UPDATED

I JUST GOT NEWS OF A REALLY COOL UPDATE. UAB STUDENTS CAN SEE THIS EVENT FOR FREE AT 4PM IN THE HUC GREAT HALL SAME DAY FRIDAY JAN 8. STUDENT IDS WILL BE CHECKED. NO NEED TO PAY THE $40 TICKET IF YOU’RE A STUDENT!!!
That’s right, The Onion is coming to UAB. If you haven’t already heard of the self proclaimed finest news source in America, you’re missing out on something special. The Onion is a news network that does satirical and comical coverage on everything from sports and entertainment to politics and more. If you haven’t already, check out the Onion’s site for some comic relief from your everyday news and you won’t be disappointed.
An Evening with the Onion will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, January 8, in the Alys Stephens Center. John Krewson, Joe Garden and Kate Palmer are the three editors speaking at the event and will be discussing The Onion’s latest book, Our Front Pages: 21 Years of Greatness, Virtue and Moral Rectitude From America’s Finest News Source, as well as some of their favorite news stories. Tickets for An Evening with the Onion can be purchased by calling 205-975-ARTS and are pretty pricy, running $40 each or $75 per couple. However, for that price, each guest will receive a copy of the latest book from the Onion in addition to a ticket for the event. Also, proceeds go to benefit scholarships in the departments of English and Communication Studies. So don’t miss your chance to check out what will be an awesome and entertaining evening, grab a new book, and help out UAB.
