Alright people in case you haven’t heard, have been living under a rock or have been sick with the swine flu (hey the commercials say it’s still around) the UAB Blazers are 17-2 and off to their best start in school history!

The Blazers just finished a three game stretch that has been by far one of the most incredible 3 game stretches of all time.

1st off the Blazers came back from 25 points down :jawdrop: against CUSA opponent SMU and won in huge 2nd half comeback.

2ndly The UAB Blazers came back from 14 points down against hated rival Southern Miss and won on a HUGE last second shot from Aaron “Ice in his veins” Johnson (we’ll talk more about him in a second). If you weren’t at the game here’s a couple videos from different perspectives and I promise you they’ll give you goosebumps.

The win kept the Blazers March Madness hopes alive and put the Blazers in a 3 way tie for first place in CUSA.

3rdly The Blazers downed top 30 ranked and fellow CUSA leader the Marshall Thundering Herd. Remember that guy with ice in his veins? Aaron Johnson? Well guess what my boy came through again for the Blazers scoring again on a last second shot. Now there’s no video of this win but let me say it was the prettiest. AJ took the ball down the lane and scored on Marshall big, bad 7 footer with 5 seconds left on the clock. As soon as the video gets uploaded I’ll put it up.

I write all of this to say that Tuesday 1/26 UAB will take on the only other undefeated conference foe the University of Tulsa Golden Hurricanes. The game will take place at 7pm at Bartow Arena, is free to all students and (unless you have class obviously) YOU should be there. This is going to be the biggest game of the year for the Blazers and will give the Blazers sole possession of 1st place in CUSA with a win.

EVERYONE needs to be at this game. In fact, as an added incentive the Gang Green has created an event on facebook to help sellout the student section for this game. It’s called “Fight For First” Student Storm and here’s the link
