This Week in Blazer Athletics! 2/1 – 2/7

So, I asked in a previous post for someone who was interested in sports to hit me up. Well today my prayers have been answered. Let me introduce my man C.J. Britton, C.J. is the President of Gang Green and is absolutely obsessed with UAB Sports. Thank God he is, man I hate sports for real. Dunno why, just do. Anyways we are gunna let C.J. do all the sports babble for us from now on out. -Stone

Alright Blazer fans we are in the midst of the basketball season and our UAB men’s team is fighting hard to keep it’s March Madness hopes alive. As most everyone knows the Blazers suffered a heart-breaker last week against the University of Tulsa, losing on a last second prayer from Tulsa’s all-American candidate Jordan 75-74.

But things have turned around for UAB as they fought back on the road and beat conference foe Marshall at their place in overtime 75-73. Paul Delaney did his thing, got his 19 points and helped the Blazers win their first road game since November.

Things have also turned around for the Lady Blazers as they defeated conference foe UTEP 64-58. The Women’s team is on a two game winning streak and will be their next two games are @ home against Memphis February 7th @ 6:00pm and against Tulsa February 12th @ 7:00pm

As for the men they will return to play at home Wednesday night @ 7:00pm against conference foe Tulane.
After Wednesday the men only have 4 home games left so get your ass in the stands and make yourself heard!
After Tulane the men will be traveling to Hattiesburg to play in the crappiest arena in C-USA against So. Miss.
The game is at 5pm on CSS for those who aren’t making the trip.

And lastly in Athletic news the planning for the Memphis camp-out has already begun! Be sure to ask off for class on Thursday, clear your calenders that Wednesday and get ready to throw down Blazer style as we all get stoked for the beating of #16 Memphis. I can’t say just yet what all is happening at the camp-out and game but just know that it will be something that everyone will be talking about for years to come. If you want a taste of what is coming for the Memphis game just check this out:

GB and see everyone at the games!
