Something for everyone at UAB this week!

We’re so busy in the office this week that I can’t think straight (no comments on that line, Stone!). But, I’m happy to report we’ve really got the entire campus covered in potential events this week. Just a lil’ something for everyone. Here’s a rundown…

If you’re into politics:

Tuesday March 31 – Control-Alt-Delete: A conversation about the rebooting of America

Control - Alt - Delete

Control - Alt - Delete

Featuring Mr. Greg Rohde – It will be a dynamic and interesting presentation about the 111th Congress, the new Administration and current policies and Broadband Initiatives included in the stimulus package that are expected to generate in excess of 3 million jobs.

7pm – HUC Great Hall – Free

If you’re into science, medicine, health and technology:

Wednesday, April 1 – SkySite:  A Navajo Nation Diabetes Project

This interactive presentation and discussion will focus on SkySite, the Navajo Nation diabetes project that uses air-born transceivers to monitor the health of Navajo who live in remote areas and suffer from type 2 diabetes. SkySite is a high-tech, cost-effective way for the Navajo to manage their almost-epidemic rates of diabetes. It puts them in the fore-front of medical and digital technology.

11:30am – Ryals Building, Room 407 – Free
