Secrets and Zombies Invade UAB
There’s a slew of cool events hitting UAB at the end of the month and you need to be there.
Thursday, October 22 at 7pm, UAB Lecture Series & Film & Novelties proudly presents Frank Warren, creator of the blog PostSecret.
If you’re not up on PostSecret, its time to join the craze. People write their deepest, darkest secrets and send them to Frank. He then shares these secrets with the rest of the world on his website and in his three New York Times best-selling books.
Frank’s lectures sell out around the country. College students line up to tell their secrets in person to Frank and the audience. It’s going to be a mind-blowing night. And of course, this does include a book signing. Books are available for purchase now at the UAB Bookstore in the Hill Center.
All students need a ticket. They’re free and available NOW at the HUC Box Office. Bring your student ID. Tickets cost $10 for the general public. The event will be held at Volker Hall, Lecture Room A.
Not to be outdone…
Thursday, October 29 at 8pm in the HUC Alumni Auditiorium, UAB proudly presents Max Brooks, zombie expert and author of World War Z.
Max Brooks is considered by many to be one of the world’s foremost Zombie preparedness experts. As we all know, the world we live in has become a rather scary place, and the global increase in the number of Zombie attacks isn’t helping matters any. According to the Office of Homeland Security, Brooks is the preeminent authority on dispatching the relentless, flesh-eating armies of Zombies that seem to be everywhere these days.
The Zombie Survival Guide is your key to success against the hordes of the undead that may be stalking you right now. The book is the result of Brooks’ tireless search for both the living dead and ways to eradicate them, which has taken him to over 30 countries and territories in Europe, Russia, Latin American, the Caribbean, the Arctic and Sub-Saharan Africa.

Post-secret’s going to be cool but the zombie dude is going to be soooo badass…For those who didn’t know Max Brooks is Mel Brooks son. If you don’t know who Mel Brooks is then you need you brains eaten.
Oh CJ. They need their brains eaten… and maybe worse. I saw some things during Dead Sno that were worse than a simple brain snack. Pretty brutal (and fantastic! I cheered. Loudly.).
Zombie Survival guide is awesome. Hope I can make it to that event! Anyone know how long these things normally last?
lol, I never made the connection that he is Mel Brook’s son, and yes, I have been living under a rock
Amy – Both lectures are contracted for 60 minutes + a 30 minute Q&A + Booksigning.
Hope that helps!

My sister is going to die (and probably come back as a zombie) when she gets wind of Max Brooks coming to town.
