Out in Birmingham: Wicked Musical

One of the popular musicals is making a return Birmingham.  Wicked will be performed at the BJCC Concert Hall between February 15 and March 4.  The show times for Tuesday and Wednesday are 7:30 PM, Friday is at 8:00 PM, Saturday at 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM and finally Sunday’s at 1:00 PM and 6:30 PM.  Tickets are available at the TICKETMASTER web site and prices start at $32.50 and go up to $130.

After breaking box office records and selling out in record time in 2009, Wicked became Broadway’s biggest blockbuster.  Wicked acts as a prequel to the popular film the Wizard of Oz.  Long before Dorothy arrives in Munchkinland, two girls meet in the land of Oz.  One – born with emerald green skin – is smart, fiery and misunderstood.  The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular.  The musical follows these two as they grow to become the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good.
