Optometry Awareness Day – Free Food!

This post is a great example of how someone utilizes iloveuab.com to promote an event. If your organization has an event coming up, feel free to contact me and we can help you get the word out!

Optometry Awareness Day is a one day event co-sponsored by the Pre-Optometry Club and USGA to provide students with free vision screenings. Students from the UAB School of Optometry will be screening for eye diseases and problems that may go undetected. Students are welcome to come get their eyes checked or just enjoy the free food and games with prizes!

The Pre-Optometry Club at UAB holds meetings where students can exchange information regarding the field of optometry. We invite local optometrists, school representatives, and current optometry students as guest speakers for each meeting. By providing information about various volunteer and shadowing opportunities, we encourage students to pursue these opportunities in order to reinforce their interest in optometry.
