The 2009-10 Mr. and Ms. UAB Applications are available now at the UAB National Alumni Society website. Or, you can just click here to get it.

What’s really cool is this is the first year UAB students have a chance to determine the outcome of Mr. and Ms. UAB. After the field has been narrowed down to the top five Mr. and Ms. candidates, NAS is giving UAB students the chance to have a say in their Mr. and Ms. UAB. On November 1 and 2, all UAB students will be encouraged to log onto BlazerNet and vote for their Mr. and Ms. UAB. The vote will count for approximately 14% of the total point total.

Last year’s recipients were Mr. Pratik Talati and Ms. Anna Lloyd, a former Cute UAB Girl of the Month.

Mr. and Ms. UAB will be announced at the halftime of the Homecoming Game against Florida Atlantic on Saturday, November 7.

Each year the National Alumni Society bestows the titles of Mr. & Ms. UAB upon two outstanding students, whose leadership and academic success have proven to be exemplary during their student careers. Mr. and Ms. UAB serve as the leaders of the Student Alumni Society, as well as student representatives on the NAS Board of Directors throughout their tenure. The Society is honored to also award a $1,500 scholarship to the winners of the Mr. & Ms. UAB scholarship competition.

Applications are now available for the 2009 Mr. & Ms. UAB Scholarship Competition. Applications must be returned to HUC 110 by 10 a.m. on Friday, October 16 to be considered. All applicants must also attend one of three orientation dates to participate.
