Wow, it has been one helluva week for iloveuab.com. That dang Car Crash Into the Commons post got a ton of publicity. I learned a lot from that experience, the whole situation has been evaluated and duly noted! Anyways, I have been wanting to start a mailing list for the site for a long time now, it took a flood of 10,000 new visitors to my site to set a fire under my ass to finally get around to it. So, as you can see we now have this new mailing list form over here on the right to sign people up.

The mailing list will be quite interesting. I haven’t quite decided what all I want to do with it yet, but I’ll tell you what I am thinking. Most likely I will send a max of 1 email per month, kinda like a monthly newsletter or ezine highlighting the best posts of the month and some other stuff that you might want to know. This will be a great way for me to send out a wealth of information all at once and guarantee that it hits it’s target market: You, UAB students. This will come in especially handy when opportunities arise around campus for students to get involved or have some fun. I always have found it kind of hard to find out all the information that I wanted to find out about the “goings-on” of the campus (hence the website!). Also, I would like to work with some of the businesses around the UAB area to provide benefits and discounts for readers, killing two birds with one Stone . To be honest though, I’m kinda new to all this email list stuff, so we’ll play it by ear.
