The Spring semester is now in full swing and as you are probably aware, many student organizations are accepting new applications for membership. Following this trend is International Mentors, who’s mandatory interest sessions start tomorrow January 25. In order to apply you need to fill out an application which can be downloaded here, attend an info session, and provide two letters of recommendation. If it’s something that interests you, make sure to apply! If you have no idea what the International Mentors that’s fine too, I got Nishita Baxi who is an International Mentor to give us an explanation:

International Mentors is a program where a UAB student is paired with a group of international students to show them around UAB and help them get accustomed not only to UAB but also to the American culture. International Mentor responsibilities include going to a few information and check-in sessions in the beginning of August as well as attend once a month meetings. Being an International Mentor is a great honor. It’s fun and super easy, and definitely a great program to get involved in!
