H1N1 (Talkin’ Bout That Swine Flu) Vaccinations Available

I’m sure most of you got the email, but if not, you can read it below. UAB is providing more free H1N1 vaccinations this week since it’s National Influenza Vaccination Week (who knew?). Go ahead an get this shot before you catch the swine flu because it would really suck to have read this post (and to have listened to the song at the end) and still catch the piggy flu. Um…so like I said here is a copy and paste directly for an email that has been passed around:

National Influenza Vaccination Week is Jan. 10-16. UAB is encouraging all students, faculty and staff who have not done so already to get vaccinated against H1N1 influenza. All UAB employees and students are eligible to receive the vaccine.

The H1N1 virus is still circulating throughout the state. Public health officials are concerned about a third wave of influenza and the likelihood that the virus will continue to cause illness for several months. Vaccination against the H1N1 virus is safe, effective, and our best defense against the flu. Join us at the following locations and help protect yourself and your family against illness:

- Tuesday, Jan. 12: Alys Stephens Center, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Wednesday, Jan. 13: Cudworth Hall Auditorium, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- Thursday and Friday, Jan. 14-15: Hill University Center Great Hall, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

These free clinics are open to all UAB students, faculty, and staff. In order to receive the vaccine at one of the clinics, you will need to provide UAB identification and your BlazerID. We suggest you wear a short sleeve shirt that allows easy access to your upper arm. Stay up to date on flu information by visiting the UAB flu site at www.uab.edu/flu.

Sincerely,

Max L. Richard
