Free Movie: Limitless
The UAB’s University Programs Council Films and Novelties Committee will be offering two chances this weekend to see Limitless for FREE! Ever wondered what you could do if there was a pill you could take to increase your intelligence and abilities? Limitless gives you a chance to find out.
Limitless is based on the 2001 novel The Dark Fields written by Alan Glynn. The film follows Edward “Eddie” Morra (Bradley Cooper), a writer who lives in New York City who is failing to turn in his new book. Eddie runs into the brother of his ex-wife, a drug dealer, who offers Eddie a sample of a new drug, NZT-48, claiming it has the ability to increase access to the brain’s power. Throughout the movie Eddie becomes entangled in three problems: one has to do with the source of the mysterious pills, the second has to do with a loan shark trying to manipulate Eddie, and the third deals with Carl Van Loon (Robert De Niro) one of the richest men in America who has hired Eddie to act as an investment “magician.” Will Eddie be able to maneuver his way through all of his struggles, maintain his access to his “miracle” drug, and come out on top? Come find out! There will be two showings. The first showing will be Friday, June 24th at 8:00 PM on the Campus Green (Rain Location: HUC Alumni Auditorium). The second showing is Saturday, June 25th at 6:00 PM in the HUC Alumni Auditorium. The Friday showing will be having FREE PIZZA!!
