Flash Rave at UAB, Let’s Make This Happen!
While I was chilling with the comedians from last nights comedy show, they enlightened me about this thing called the Flash Rave. I had heard of something like this before, but I had never really grasp the full scope of how absolutely awesome a Flash Rave can actually be. It turns out that they are becoming really popular at college campuses around finals time. I started looking on YouTube and what I found was amazing. Schools like Ol Miss, Oklahoma State, and UTK to name a few have successfully pulled off badass Flash Raves in their libraries or student unions. This of course gave me the idea that WE should organize one and make it happen! Take a look at these videos to get a feel for what I am talking about:

I promse you I will make this happen at UAB before my time is up. It’s gunna take some planning and some fighting with administration, but it could be amazing if we could pull it off. Anyone up for making this happen?

Some Mortal Kombat techno would just about do it. If you get the school’s permission to use the emergency text system, you’d get just about every student to go when and where. Very impromptu.
I wish we could use the emergency text system! But it would take a nuclear explosion before UAB decided to use that shit for real

I think the main question is where to have it? I think a flash rave/midnight breakfast would dominate around midterm in the fall.
I have heard suggestions like HUC, Commons, The Green…I’m open for suggestions, I’ll start getting it organized soon
