To start off, I must apologize. We were all crazy busy last semester so the good ole faithful UAB Cute Girl of the Month articles suffered (my deepest apologizes guys.) Luckily for you, that semester is over. Which means MORE UAB CUTE GIRL OF THE MONTH. (applause)

And to start off this fine new year, we have asked the lovely Liz Carver to bare the burden of being iloveuab.com’s latest cutie on campus.

1. Why did you choose UAB?

I ended up at UAB by accident. I missed the scholarship deadlines for the two schools I was deciding between. I wanted to stay close to home, so that I could continue to teach dance. My other option was UAB. I cannot imagine my life if I had not ended up here.

2. Are you a big Blazer fan?

Lets just say that I bleed green and gold! I am a former UAB Golden Girl (dance team…not the old ladies). I am also a UAB Diamond Girl (they help out with baseball). I will be a Blazer till I die.

3. So you’re a Broadcasting major, what do you want to be once you graduate?

My main goal is to get a job. One that pays and has benefits. Specifications will be worked out later. However, I am looking into getting my meteorology degree. I am quite the nerd.

4. Very nice, but if you could have any job in the universe, what would your dream job be?

Here are my top choices, in no particular order:

- Dance teacher

- Director of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders

- Anything working with the New York Yankees. I love my Yankees!

- Trophy wife of Derek Jeter

- World Traveler

5. What’s your idea of the perfect date?

If it’s a first date, I think it’s really awkward to go to dinner (unless you know the other person really well). Going somewhere like a basketball game, or the circus is always a good idea. Attending events where you can talk during them are your safest bet – you have automatic conversation, and if it’s awkward you have something watch.

6. Do you have any awesome talents or skills?

Well, I have danced for 19 years. Outside of that, I am really good at talking and finding random, awesome music. I can give a speech to any crowd. I also know a lot about forecasting the weather. Oh! And I’m double jointed in my arms, so a can twist them 360 degrees.

7. You involved with any groups or clubs at UAB?

I am a freshmen Peer Mentor and a member of the Alpha Lambda Delta Academic Honor Society. Outside of school I am Rick and Bubba intern Taylor Swift.

8. There are a bunch of awesome movies coming out this year, what are you most excited about?

I love action movies and sports movies. There are plenty coming out this year. There are also some classic books being made into movies. On my short list is: The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, The Great Gatsby. The Hunger Games, Les Miserables, Dr. Seuss’s the Lorax, Dorothy of Oz, The Lucky One, The Vow, Battleship, GI Joe: Retaliation, Snow White and the Huntsman, and Step Up 4.

9. What is your favorite song right now?

I am a music fanatic! I could never pick just one. I listen to pop, hip-hop, classic rock, alternative, indie…basically anything except country music. I tend to make my own playlists and listen to those.

10. If you had to be stuck on a deserted island and you could only bring 3 things, what would be those things be and why?

(1) Sunscreen – I don’t want to burn. (2) Potatoes – You can cook them in a million ways (and i don’t trust my hunting skills. (3) Matches – I know I could never start a fire without them.

11. What are you thoughts on the FreeUAB movement?

It is so nice to finally see UAB students, faculty, and fans standing up for our University. Let’s face it, it’s hard to be UAB in a state with such prominent football teams. UAB is an outstanding school, and we should have some major pride in our University. I am so excited to see where this takes us!

12. It’s a Friday night, what are you doing?

Typically hanging out with friends – going out to eat, finding fun things to do, watching movies, etc.
