Yeah yeah, I know I’m late, but it’s homecoming week and my time is short. I hope that everyone has been going all to as much of the Homecoming activities as possible. StompDown last night was off the chain, as was the gurney derby on 14th street today. Also, if there was any week to avoid paying for food, this week is that week. There is free food everywhere on campus! Since it’s Homecoming and all, I thought Susan Moseley, a Golden Girl, would be a perfect fit for Cute UAB Girl Of The Month:

2. Wait so you’re a Golden Girl, not a Blazerette right? Please clarify the difference:

UAB Golden Girls are the Dance Team and Blazerettes are the Danceline. Golden Girls are part of UAB’s spirit team. We cheer and dance at all major UAB events like football games, pep rallies, and basketball games. Basketball games you will see us perform at halftime! We do all type of dance like jazz, hip hop, modern and so on… We make appearances at various community events like Red Cross, Classroom Connections, Bar Mitzvah’s, etc. We also compete at UDA Nationals in Orlando, Florida!

3. Why did you pick UAB for your college experience?

I chose UAB because it is close to home and not too far away to where I would be homesick. I love my family so moving too far from them would be way too difficult! I also want to apply for UAB’s Physical Therapy School because it is the best!!

4. If you’re at Als, what are you eating?

Barbeque Chicken Baker with FRIED Chicken….with a cup filled with Ice all the way to the top and half way with water. I love chewing ice! OR if I am not that hungry they have Awesome Vegetable Soup with Pita Bread.. both are Super!!

5. Homecoming is this week, how excited are you?!

I am pumped! Those Blazers better run over FAU! The GG’s will actually be performing at the Bonfire on Thursday night! Homecoming week is real fun because there is always something going on each day, not to mention all the cute decorations on campus. By the way, UA looks way better with a B behind it

6. What were you for Halloween? Pictures please!

I was an Indian!! My sister Madeleine made the costume from scratch! I loved it. It looked just like Pocahontas.

7. Do you have a job? If so, where do you work?

I do! I work for Red Bull North America. I am a part of the Wiiings team. We basically cover the entire state of Alabama and most of Mississippi. We provide samples of Red Bull at all kinds of events like football games, bmx racing, motocross, triathlons, parties… etc. If you see the Red Bull mini cooper… it could be me! I love my job and all the girls I work with. Everyone should become a fan of Red Bull on facebook because as a team, we have hidden Red Bull Stashes all over the state! 8. This one is a classic: If you were stuck on a deserted island for a month, what three things would you want to have with you and why?

I would want to have chap stick because I am obsessed, music because I cannot go a day without it ( so probably a guitar or djembe), and a machete because I would need to use it for chopping down the coconut from the coconut tree! (Just like they do in the Philippines, which is where my mother is from) ha!

9. It’s Friday night. Who are you with and what are you doing?

If I am not working, hanging out with the fam, or watching movies with some of the GG’s, then I am probably at the apartment with Sarah ( my roomie ) cooking dinner for our friends and probably quoting 50 First Dates and Never Been Kissed. haha. I love cooking so its always fun to start Friday nights off with a delicious meal before you go out. I never go to the same place, its always different. Usually Me, Sarah, and Laurie meet up with the guys and go to different spots around Birmingham. Its always spontaneous and ALWAYS a great time. To name a few things: dance parties, 80’s skate night, climbing buildings, cake fights, game nights, jamming to acoustic music, or just going out to hear a good Band!!

10.Favorite musical artist:

This question is way too difficult. It is hard to name just one favorite artist. I like ALL kinds of music. Music is so important to me. Music always determines usually what kind of mood I’m in. I love Incubus..I actually got to meet them, but they are by far one of my favorites! I like Fleetwood Mac, the Eagles… I love the Gin Blossoms, David Crowder Band, Black Eyed Peas, love Goo Goo Dolls, John Mayer, Graham Colton Band, Modest Mouse, love Taylor Swift, TWILIGHT soundtrack, 311, Jason Mraz, MGMT, CCR, America, Foo Fighters, Matchbox 20, Tv on the Radio, The Temptations, love Beach Boys! VERA ROCKS! Its so hard to say what type of music but i like Oldies, 60s Motown,70s, 80s Classic Rock, 90’s, Country, Classical, Christian, Pop, and even Techno! Anything with a good beat or lyrics that make your heart melt I’ll probably like. If I can dance to it, I will more and likely enjoy it.

11. Um so….you don’t have a Facebook profile…..what’s up with that?

Yeah, I deleted it about 2 months ago. I felt like it was just a waste of my time! Not only did I study more after deleting it, but my grades improved! I feel like Facebook is a way for people to get to know you before they actually know you, and I would rather meet people in person than through Facebook! I think its funny when I go to the library to study and every computer is on Facebook. HAHA. I am the kind of person who enjoys meeting new faces and for me, Facebook is not the way to do it! I recently had a birthday and it definitely made me smile to see which friends remembered it and Facebook didnt pop up reminding them I may reactivate, but as for now… I am better without!
