So it occurred to me that I must have a bias for brunettes lol. So I decided to change things up this month and feature an awesome blond chick. This month’s Cute UAB Girl is Katie Johnston who is a good friend of mine and an awesome person for sure. Katie is the 7th cute UAB girl for this year which means July has finally come to an end. The best thing about July coming to an end (besides Cute UAB Girl Of The Month) is that the beginning of the Fall semester is only a few short weeks away. I love the Fall. Anyways, here we go:

1. First things first, have you been (and are you currently) involved in any student organizations at UAB?

I have been and am currently a UAB Ambassador! It keeps me busy but is well worth the time. I’m also getting into the PRSSA chapter of UAB. Hopefully it’ll help me meet and network with some of the movers and shakers of B’ham.

2. How did you end up at the wonderful UAB that we all know and love?

After coming from Hoover High, where 50% of our senior class ended up at Alabama or Auburn, a downtown city school looked very refreshing. I wanted to be close to home, and UAB makes me feel like I’m further away than I really am, so that’s a plus, too. It was actually the only school I even applied to!

3. If you could bring ANY band to UAB for a concert, who would it be? Why?

This is such a hard question! My go-to bands include Red Hot Chili Peppers and Goo Goo Dolls. But I’m pretty certain UAB could show DMB some love.

… and we’d probably get some in return.

4. If you had 10 million dollars and YOU HAD to spend it to improve UAB, what would you do?

Can I be unoriginal and say more parking like everyone else?? hahah I’m pretty sure I’d buy us a Wendy’s, because that would obviously be an improvement. I’d also redo the oooolllld humanities building and maybe even buy everyone’s textbooks!

That would use up my 10 million real quick.

5. Have you ever flirted with a teacher in hopes of increasing your grade?

Hm, maybe I flirted just to flirt, but I wouldn’t say in hopes of increasing my grade.. .my 8th grade science teacher did indeed look like a younger Ben Affleck. (I ended up with a 97!)

6. Would you agree that campus bookstores are ripping off students?

That’s a fair way of putting it I think. Students should not have to have a hard time affording what they’d call necessities.

7. Do you think you could survive in the woods for a week?

Ya know, I really wanna say yes to this. Actually, I know I’d survive..whether or not I’d know where to begin or what to do or look good doing it is another question. Now… if ya let me take along my pal, Mr. Grylls, I may could show ya some techniques…

8. It’s Friday night, where are you and who are you with?

Hm, good question. I’m definitely downtown somewhere! Most likely in Justin and Logan’s apartment, with them of course. They usually have fun gettogethers. We’re usually broke so free or cheap entertainment options are appreciated! haha

Ok, Andrew. that’s a long time. I’d absolutely have to take…

1. Tweezers. I mean, no one wants a splinter or an unruly unibrow.

2. Tennis shoes. or something I could run really fast in.

3. Um, that mass of people following verizon wireless customers. the resource that keeps on giving! I’m sure one of them would have a usable phone. and I’d probably want some friends and/or medical attention to join me on that island.

11. Ramen Noodles or Hot Pockets?

Ramen Noodles, hands down. 13 cents a pack, come on.

12. Do you think Birmingham honestly needs a dome stadium?!

I’m gonna go with no. hahaha I’m probably the last person who’d have any opinion on this normally, but since you’ve brought it up, i’d hafta say that there’s much more B’ham needs before spending money on a fancy dome stadium.
