Welcome Week at UAB continues with the first Blazer Nights of the semester.  Blazer Nights, a committee in the University Programs Council, offers students a variety of entertainment options one Friday night a month throughout the school year.  Blazer Nights is co-sponsoring with NPC and will be Friday, August 19, 2011 from 8 PM to 12 AM.  This Blazer Nights will feature a Block Party with dancing and glow sticks.  There will also be karaoke and Wii games.  Along with the Block Party, Blazer Nights will feature the film Bridesmaids.  Bridesmaids will be shown twice in the HUC Alumni Auditorium at 8 PM and 10 PM.  All of this is completely FREE! There will also be FREE FOOD!

Bridesmaids is a breakout comedy.  It follows Annie (Kristen Wiig) a thirty-something woman who has hit rough patch and finds her life completely turned upside down when she becomes the Maid of Honor for her best friends Lillian’s (Maya Rudolph) wedding.  Annie ends up way over her head but is determined to succeed.  Annie with the other bridesmaids Rita (Wendi McLendon-Covey), Becca (Ellie Kemper), Megan (Melissa McCarthy), and Helen (Rose Byrne) become involved in a hilarious set of events on the road to the big day.  Will Lillian make it to the alter?  If she does, will Annie be by her side?  Come watch Bridesmaids on August 19^th!
