Become a Trailblazer at UAB
One of the best decisions I made in college was to become a Trailblazer at UAB. I simply love doing this job. Trailblazers give campus tours, participate in open house/UAB day, and basically become the liaison between prospective students and the admittance councilors. Throughout the semester you will be giving campus tours to prospective students on a weekly basis, while having some other mandatory events thrown in the mix. The job is really easy and extremely fun. However, it’s not for everyone. You need to be out going, and be able to talk in front of large and small groups. There is an interview process and you will need letters of recommendation.
If you are interested, you are about to run out of time. The last mandatory interest session is tomorrow Thursday, January 22nd at 3:30 pm at the UBOB building. At this meeting you can pick up an aplication which are DUE THIS FRIDAY January 23, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. As I said, you will need letters of recommendation from faculty and advisers, so you are going to have to move fast, but believe me, it’s worth it. There are only about 25 Trailblazer and they are all really cool people from many different backgrounds and walks of life. Many will apply, some will be interviewed, and few will become Trailblazers. That only makes it oh so much sweeter if you get picked.
