Alys Stephens Center Presents: Jewel w/ MEIKO

This is a guest post for the Alys Stephens Center.

Hello everyone! I wanted to let you know about an upcoming concert. Jewel with special guest MEIKO will be performing this Friday (Oct. 30, 8pm) night at the Alys Stephens Center. Tickets are fairly expensive if you are not a UAB Student, however, we students are in luck. UAB Student tickets are just $20 bucks! Guys, this is the perfect idea for a date. You know you are going to want your girlfriend to come out with you on Saturday night to some haggard Halloween party, so what better way to get her to agree than taking her to Jewel the night before!

Here is some more information about Jewel, quoted from the Alys Stephens Center website:

It comes as no surprise that Jewel, a singer, songwriter, actress, poet, painter, philanthropist, and daughter to an Alaskan cowboy singer-songwriter, also finds herself in the embrace of country music these days. Jewel is set apart for not only singing, but writing all of her songs, with hits like “Who Will Save Your Soul,” “You Were Meant for Me,” “Foolish Games” and “Stronger Woman.” She has received three Grammy Award nominations and has sold 27 million albums worldwide. Jewel’s personal odyssey, partly chronicled on one of the best-selling debut albums of all time, the 12-time platinum “Pieces of You,” comes full circle with her latest work “Lullaby.” The 15-track album, her first-ever independent release, features 10 self-penned songs and a few standards, including “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star” and “Somewhere over the Rainbow.”

I’ll be taking the GF to this show, I hope to see you there!
