Alternative Spring Break, Maybe Drunken Beach Parties Aren’t Your Thing…
Sometimes crazy drunken-see-if-you-can-jump-over-to-the-balcony-beside-your-room-fall-and-break-your-legs-spring-break are not for everyone. Thankfully UAB offers a great Alternative Spring Break program, this year they are in partnership with Habitat for Humanity (where I suppose the risk of falling off a roof and breaking both your legs is still present, but it’s a risk you are going to have to be willing to take) and will be traveling to Lexington, KY. I just wanted to let all of you know that the deadline to sign up is coming up on January 30th. These trips are really cool and I know from talking to some people who have done them in the past that they turn out to be a lot of fun. Also, you are guaranteed to meet some really cool people who have a thing for service, much like yourself.
As you might have noticed, that link above links to a Kaleidescope article. That’s because I couldn’t find much information on UAB’s website about the program. That means I don’t have to much info for you on how to sign up, so you are going to have to go up to room 440 in the HUC and ask for information.
