Free Movie: Tron Legacy
Have you ever thought about what it would be like to be a character in a video game, defeating increasingly difficult levels and trying to overcome your arch nemesis? UAB’s Films and Novelties Committee is showing Tron: Legacy not once, not twice, but three times this weekend.
Tron: Legacy is somewhat of a sequel to the 1982 film Tron, but don’t worry if you haven’t seen the first one this one let’s you jump right in. Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner reprise their roles as Kevin Flynn/Clu and Alan Bradley/Tron. The film follows the son of a virtual world designer (Garrett Hedlund) who goes looking for his father and ends up inside the digital world that his father designed. He meets his father’s creation who has turned evil and a unique ally who was born inside the digital world of “The Grid.” Tron: Legacy includes really cool chases and some awesome futuristic fight scenes. The film also stars Olivia Wilde, Beau Garrett, Michael Sheen, and James Frain. If you’re a fan of science fiction and action, you’re definitely gonna want to come watch it!
The film will be shown on Friday, March 25th at 8:00 PM and 10:30 PM and also on Saturday, March 26th at 6:00 PM in the HUC Alumni Auditorium. Just a reminder…it’s FREE! What’s better than that?
