Bonnaroo 2010 Lineup Announced!
If you’ve been a fan of iloveuab.com for awhile, or you know me in person, you know that I am a huge Bonnaroo fan. Bonnaroo is a BIG (The largest actually) Music and Arts festival that is held every year in Manchester TN, just 3 hours up the road from Bham! The festival is on an 800+ acre farm and takes place over 4 days. It’s 4 days of camping, music, and misbehavior! I love it.
There’s always a huge deal made about who is and who isn’t going to play Bonnaroo each year. To be honest, I don’t really care who plays because I would probably go regardless, but this year I really love the Line-up. To keep things short and interesting, I’ll mention some of my favorites and focus on the bigger acts.
**EDIT: Before I get into the acts I HAVE to mention this year’s “Revealing” – this shit was SOOOOO annoying. For some reason they thought it would be a good idea to announce a new name every 6 minutes for the entirety of the day. Yeah, that’s right, they dripped all 50+ names out to everyone via Myspace and Twitter over a 5 hour period. It was horrible.
Regardless of how the announced everyone, I’m super stoaked at this year’s headliners. We’ve got Dave Matthew’s Band, Jay-Z, Kings of Leon, and STEVIE WONDER as the major “heavy hitters” at this year’s festival. My girlfriend got me in to DMB recently, so I’m really excited to see Dave do his thing. I’ve also always wanted to see Jay-Z, and I missed Kings of Leon when they came to town, so these two are great picks in my opinion. Lastly, there’s freakin Stevie Wonder – I don’t even know what to think. I’m not a huge Stevie Wonder fan, but he is just such a mega name, there’s no way I’ll miss this show.
Some other really cool names – Tenacious D, The Flaming Lips, and The Dead Weather. First off – Tenacious D – HAHAH, I can’t believe it! I’m going to sing Tribute as loud as I possibly can, I’m so happy about this announcement. Along with Tenacious D at the top of the bill is The Flaming Lips, who will be performing Dark Side of The Moon. That show will SURELY be amazing. Also we’ve got The Dead Weather whom I’ve heard a lot about. This band has a rockstar lineup (Dean Fertita (Queens Of The Stone Age), “Little” Jack Lawrence (The Raconteurs, The Greenhornes), Alison Mosshart (The Kills) & Jack White (The White Stripes, The Raconteurs)) and is sure to be amazing.
As far as the late late nightlife goes, we’re going to have some amazing beats to dance to: Deadmau5, Bassnectar, The Disco Biscuits, and hell let’s lump Chromeo in there also. These shows are going to be hella great.
Lastly, two acts that caught my attention – Jamey Johnson, and the Zac Brown Band. These are two amazing country acts, they’ll be at Roo! I think this is awesome and I will be at both of these shows too.
So, there you have it, my 2 cents on the Bonnaroo announcement. It may not compare to the one that Jessica Seales did for Roo 09, but it’ll have to do!

Honestly….I think they have had better line-ups. I must be a freak for thinking that.
Tenacious D would be really cool to see live though. “The Road” is too legit to quit.
Wow, I actually want to go this year. Dave, Weezer, Norah Jones, Thievery Corp., TMBG, Les Claypool, Dropkick Murphys, Against Me!, Cross Canadian Ragweed… Christ. This is the best lineup I’ve seen in a while. I’m going. Cuz baby, I’m an anarchist.
I love this lineup for sure
