Before you vote in this new poll, let’s take a look at last weeks question. I asked how much on average people were paying for books….the results shocked me. Out of the almost 70 people that voted, over 40% voted in the $500+ range. That is crazy. For most of my college career I have paid in the 3-400 dollar range, just now as a senior am I hitting some really high prices. There are many reasons for this. A lot of people like to blame the books stores, but I have done enough thinking to realize it’s not the bookstores that are gouging prices. The root of the problem is much deeper, it’s the publishers that truly cause outrageous pricing. Anyways, this discussion is neither here nor there, so lets continue.

This weeks poll asks, “How much time, on average, does it take you to find a parking space at UAB?” a question that hits home for most all of us, especially we commuter students.

UAB has its highest attendance in years, that combined with closed lots as well as the loss of some lots has really caused quite a problem. Worry not though, help is on the way. The rumor is that the 13th street parking deck will be getting two more levels. That’ll be nice except the construction is sure to block off even more spaces for a short (a few months?) period of time. It ain’t over yet!
