Volunteer Opportunity: Boutwell Auditorium Warming Station
I have gotten this email twice today and I think I need to echo it to as many people as possible. The American Red Cross, The City of Birmingham, and the Jefferson County Emergency Management Agency have come together to open a “Warming Station” in the Boutwell Auditorium. This Warming Station will provide people with a warm place to be during some of the coldest times of the year. The word is they need a number of Volunteers to successfully operate this much needed service. Volunteers are needed for such activities as “serving coffee, helping families to their cots, general clean up, helping in the “info” booth, etc.”. If you feel like this is something that you would be apart of, you can sign up at Hands On Birmingham. I may have left out some details so I will go ahead and attach the quoted email to this post.
