UAB/Memphis Campout!

What up UAB faithful? Ready for midterms? Spring break? Probably the latter instead of the former. Well it’s that time of the year again. That time of the year to take a break from our extensive studies (ha) join together as fans of the Green and Gold and spend the night on the green of Bartow to prepare for our biggest rivalry game against the Memphis Tigers.

Now I’ve heard the murmuring and what people are saying-
It’s going to be too cold, or Memphis isn’t ranked
Listen here Blazer fan.
This is the one time of the year we as UAB students come together, this is the one time of the year we as a 40 year old University do something that none of the other Universitys in the South do.
If you all remember last year this campout is essentially the biggest party on UAB’s campus.
EVERYONE who is anyone comes to this event. The campout is OUR event. No other event brings together the Frats, Sororities, student groups, geeks, jocks, etc… like the campout.
There will be grilling, there will be firepits, there will be Red Bull (believe me, I can’t say what’s coming but you;ll be talking about it for months), there will be food, tents, beverages that will warm your innerds ;)
Simply put, this campout combines the best things about UAB and brings everyone together to root on their team, hang out and have a GREAT, GREAT time. If you are going to come to one UAB event this year THIS IS IT!

Campout

So here’s how Tuesday night is gonna go down-
What time can I set up my tent? Anytime starting tomorrow until Tuesday night (yes there are people camping out 2 nights before. It’s that legit of an event)
What’s the point of going to the campout again? To get a number to get a wristband the next day to guarantee yourself a seat for the game Wednesday night (the student section has filled out every year for the past 5 years so this guarantees you a seat)
<strong. what time do we line up the next morning to get our wristbands? 8am.
what if I don’t have a tent? You can rent one from the Rec Center for like $12.

So get your Green and Gold sleeping bags, your outside firepits and get ready for Blazer Victory the next day! GB!

This is sure to be a fun event. The word “Universities” is spelled wrong in the article. Just looking out for my green and gold family. Take care.

Easily the biggest party at UAB for 5 years straight. A rite of passage every student should go to.

I’ve camped out for three years straight, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do so this year. Why couldn’t the game be on a Saturday!?!

I think I’m bringing my 20 foot tall inflatable screen.
No. Really. As long as the snopocalypse doesn’t screw up the grounds too much…
