ONB Magic City Art Show at Linn Park – Awesome

So at the last minute I got talked into going to the ONB Magic City Art show down at Linn Park. I say “I got talked into…” because I wouldn’t really consider myself the artsy fartsy type, and this is not something that I would usually go to. However, I DID go and I had an amazing time. I had an amazing time for many reasons, it was a beautiful day, the art was cool, and I got to see a drunk guy get arrested. If you can’t have fun in that environment, you need to re-evaluate your life! So lets start things off right, first things first: the Art.

As I said earlier, the art was really cool and there was a huge variety of stuff to look and and of course purchase. I figured it was going to be kinda like a yuppie fest with weird art every where that I didn’t understand. Turns out, it was like a carnival-funnel-cake-$5-lemonade fest with weird art everywhere that I didn’t understand. Sweet. In all seriousness though, there was tons of cool art everywhere and they had something for everyone with prices ranging from 10$ all the way up to $35,000. While I was there, I made sure to take some pictures (and video, but we’ll get to that) of all the cool stuff. So here we go:

This first artist, John Lytle Wilson, does some really cool stuff. He paints these abstract animals and robots that are pretty cool. Sometimes he includes them in these nature scene paintings like the one below. I asked him if he actually paints the nature scene, he said “No, I just grab them for like $5 bucks at a thrift store and paint in the robots”. He also mentioned that these are some of his best sellers. I can see why! If I could have afforded this one I would have gotten it. He’s talented for sure. Check it:

After leaving John’s expo tent I found myself wondering around again. Soon I found myself being strangely drawn to the back side of the art festival, little did I know what fate awaited me. You guessed it. I found the nudity tent!! I mean what art festival is complete without some nude photos and paintings? None that I know of! I hope you are ready for this boob picture below, I’m sure you are. You either have them or have seen them so don’t give me any lip ok?

BAM!

He also has some pictures of little figurines and some…”bush” if you know what I mean. I told him that he should get a little Obama figurine and have him with a lawn mower mowing down said bush. He liked my tip and promised me a free print if he does it. Score.

There were probably 200 booths with all kinds of different types of art. There were sculptures, mosiacs, photographs, paintings, almost anything you can think of, it was there. Oh yeah, there was this awesome wooden pyramid Tee-Pee type deal that was cunstructed expecially for the event. It was walk in and really cool:

The above sculpture was sponsored by Intermark Group.

I have a bunch more photos that I would post, but I don’t have the name and contact of all the artist. I would post them but I have a feeling that pissing off artists is a bad idea so i’m gunna pass.

So are you ready for the grand finale? I made a movie for you. The Drum Line in the Movie is Phi Delta Iota Drumline. Enjoy:

Lol I embedded the wrong video at first, here is the right one!
