Two Academy Award winning films. Two weeks. First up, the winner for Best Picture – Slumdog Millionaire. If you haven’t had a chance to see it yet… it’s free. Right after that, check out Sean Penn in Milk, where he was the winner for Best Actor. Milk hardly played in Birmingham (go figure), so this is your chance to catch it!
Saddness abounds in the HUC these days. No more Chik-Fil-A (and that kicking Chik-Fil-A sauce)… not at least until August, anyways. That said, I thought it would be worthwhile to share a little information about what our pain and suffering will get us in the end!
The voting results for the Undergraduate Student Government Association are in!
Saturday (February 28) is the 19th Annual Camille Armstrong Memorial Scholarship Stepshow. Seven teams of talented steppers from the south (including UAB, Auburn and Mississippi State) will face off for bragging rights and a cash prize.
The 3rd Annual Dollars for Scholars 5K/10K will be held on Friday, April 24, 2009 in the Pepper Place District of Downtown Birmingham. Both 5K and 10K races will begin at 6 p.m. with a post-race party to follow outside the Cantina with food, drinks, and entertainment for all ages.
