So you may be wondering a little about this site and the reason for its existence. Well, the reason for this site’s existence is because it needs to exist. There is a gap that needed filling at UAB, and iloveuab.com did and still does just that. This website helps bridge the gap between student organizations and students. This website provides a versatile way for information to be shared and recorded. It does what a printed paper could never do. The idea is that you, a UAB student, can check this site on a daily basis to get up to date information regarding what is going on at your University and in your city. Myself and all the people that contribute to this site hope that you find it useful, entertaining, and worth telling others about.
iloveuab.com was originally started so I could entertain myself and try to make some people laugh. I also thought that it might be able to serve a purpose that other medians for news (Facebook, The Kalaeidescope, Uab.edu, Birmingham News, etc.) might not be able to serve. That purpose being: honest and free speech about whatever I (or anyone else) may want to talk about. I never imagined that it would get this big (or consume this much of my time), but I love this site and all that it has helped me accomplish.
